Learn to embrace your
black pearls
What is Black Pearl Counseling?
Natural pearls are created when something unpleasant gets inside of a clam. Similarly, the negative experiences we internalize as humans often live in us as what society would deem "dark" parts. Healing comes when we learn to show kindness, gentleness, and love to those parts. I look forward to accompanying you on that journey.
Meet Bri (she/they)
MA, LPC
I am an LPC licensed in the state of Texas providing virtual and in person therapy from a trauma informed perspective. I specialize in domestic/intimate partner violence, chronic illness, depression, and the trauma of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. As a counselor, I am not all that different than I am in the other areas of my life. I like to work very relationally, incorporate parts work, and practice from an anti-racist lens. Prior to my career as a counselor, I was an advocate at the National Domestic Violence Hotline for 5 years. Outside of work I can be found spending time with my cat, dog, and partner or practicing karate, which has been a part of my life since late 2019.
Services
I offer individual counseling to adults in the state of Texas who are seeking support around healing trauma, navigating depression, and a variety of other concerns. I specialize in working with domestic violence, chronic illness, and the trauma of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. I am EMDR trained and have 8+ years of experience with crisis management.
